The Hunter Douglas Pirouette shade on this window filters the light and blocks about 80% of the UV’s, protecting the floor, rug, furniture, also providing a layer of privacy and turning harsh light into a pleasant glow. They are elegantly framed by stationary drapery panels, with a saggy top for a more casual feel.
To cozy up this living room with a coastal vibe we covered the side walls with panels, softening up the angular surfaces. The Silhouette shades on the bay windows (barely noticeable on the photo) give much needed privacy from the street while keeping the open feel.

This valance is actually a “fake” roman shade, so that there isn’t too much fabric bulk as it is to be permanently in the raised position. It is a great way to achieve a more casual look than having a formal valance.
